Week 6 & 7 - Ledge Grab and Some Puzzles

We are back!

And we have some new exciting things to show you!

First, Let's start with the Ledge Grab System.

I started out with something really simple, press a key and check if there is a ledge in front of the character to grab, if so, turn off gravity pull and ajust the character position.


After that, added some offset to the characters position so the hands would be closer to the ledge and added some animation, again from Mixamo.


After this, up and down jumps. 


Then some Invese Kinematics to ajust the hands position and make it look nicer. Also the ability to jump to a block to the side if there is one (this is done automatically, the player just keeps walkig to the side).


And finnaly Corners, Theses where a bit of a pain because there had to be a lot of checks to see if there was enough space for the caracter to turn the corner.


I might still add the option of jumping towards a ledge on the back if you are looking towards it. But we will see if our Level Design requires that.

As for Puzzles, we added some falling blocks when you step over them.



And some levers with a specific code to unlock.
